Responsibilities:Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies. This includes:

Leading instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher’s existing lesson plans

Assigning reasonable tasks and homework

Motivating students to learn, and encourage classroom participation

Adapting to the various learning styles of students

For long-term assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as create, administer, and grade tests and assignments

Minimum requirements:

For Substitute Teachers: At least 20 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent (Higher education degree is a plus!)

For Substitute Paraprofessionals: At least 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent

For Long-term Substitute Teachers: At least 20 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent (Long-term is 11+ consecutive days on the same assignment.)

All candidates must be comfortable working with a computer-based scheduling and payroll system

Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal communication skills

Daily Substitute Teacher pay is $115/day. Long-term Substitute Teacher Pay is $180/day (after the 11 th consecutive day on the same assignment). Perks you’ll enjoy as a substitute teacher:
