Warehouse Manager
Overview
Reports to Terminal Manager
Plan and execute assigned orders to exceed customer expectations, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain profitability for the company. Responsibilities encompass all warehousing activities, receiving, inspection, shipping, wireless inventory control, and data entry.
The Warehouse Manager ensures all warehouse operations are efficient and economical. Manages both household and electronics warehouse functions including loading, unloading, and storing freight to meet customer and warehouse requirements.
Responsibilities
Manage/ supervise daily warehouse operations.
Manage warehouse space to optimize efficiency.
Handle freight properly to maximize efficiency and exceed customer expectations.
Manage inventories to ensure protection of customer goods, equipment, and facilities.
Identify problems to the Terminal Manager.
Completes paperwork associated with freight handling (i.e. exception sheets, pallet cards).
Manages and Supervises warehouse workers to maximize efficiency.
Control labor costs.
Ensure all revenue is captured and billed for as required.
Fully functional and total utilization of Windfall Inventory Management System.
Consistent, well implemented training programs with measurable and well documented results.
Schedule, supervise, and record all work which is performed during their assigned shift.
Ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse through proper direction, control, assistance, and motivation of the employees.
Communicates and coordinates with Operations personnel to assure a high standard of service to the customer.
Ensure that all operational commitments and requirements are fulfilled.
Renders decisions affecting the warehouse operations in the best interest of service requirements and/or operating efficiency.
Guides, instructs, and assists employees in proper work methods and procedures.
Insures employees adhere to company policies.
Controls access to the warehouse and instructs lease operators and outside drivers when and where they will load/unload.
Recommends changes in policies and procedures to improve warehouse performance.
Manage warehouse property (i.e. supplies, equipment, facilities).
Operate warehouse equipment, including forklift.
Maintain forklift certification files in accordance with OSHA standards.
Maintain warehouse and facility to ensure compliance with Military Standards.
Handle household van equipment.
Manage packing supplies check in/out procedures.
Maintain documentation process for all items coming in/out of the warehouse.
Maintain warehouse housekeeping standards inside and out.
Ship and receive customer products- ensure all products are received by customers in good condition.
Additional duties as assigned by management.
Education
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
A minimum 3 years’ experience in warehouse management
At least 3 years’ experience working with automated WMS systems
Forklift and bar-coding experience are needed
Ability to lift 75 lbs.
