We are seeking a passionate and experienced Window Covering Installer to join our team in NE Washington DC. The ideal candidate will have professionalism, excellent customer service skills, and a deep understanding of window treatment products (blinds, shades and drapes). Installers ensure projects are installed with accuracy and in a timely fashion.
Prepare for the project - preparation is the first step in any successful project. Organize products and tools with sufficient time before the installation starts. Knowing the project requirements beforehand will increase the likelihood of a successful project and a happy customer.
Travel safely and arrive at install jobs on time – safety and punctuality are high priorities. Preparation is key to be successful at both.
Create custom solutions – you will be required to think creatively for more complex installations.
Continuing product education – you will need to stay current on the latest blinds, shutters, shades, and drapes of our preferred suppliers. Knowledge of motorization programming will be key.
Measure and install a high-quality project – ensure a perfect fit and consistently receive 5-star reviews.
Resolve installation issues as they occur – respond professionally to customers and fix any issues brought up during the project.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment – focus on safety at all times, manage your tools and products correctly, be mindful of customer’s homes and furniture, and leave the home in better shape than you found it.
Provide exceptional customer service – put the customer first before the project starts, while the project is underway, and after the project is completed.
Qualifications:
2 years of installation or general carpentry experience required, with a preference for in-home window covering or similar in-home installations.
Strong knowledge of window covering installation methods, tools, and products including blinds, shades, shutters, and drapes.
Highly proactive, self-starter individual who can collaborate with multiple internal and external teams.
Professional attitude, attention to detail, punctuality, and understand that customer service is a differentiator.
Creative mindset and problem solver.
Proficient communication skills (writing and verbal).
Excellent time and project management skills including the ability to meet deadlines.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and excellent driving record.
Able to pass background and drug test.
Excellent, clean driving record, must pass background and drug test.
Must be able to climb stairs, lift 50 pounds, and climb ladders.
