Role and Responsibilities:
The core mission of the Associate Attorney is to research, analyze and draft legal documents in ready-to- deliver fashion, be it for a client, government agency, or internally. Associate Attorneys are expected to spend a majority of their time on client work. You are also expected to implement, improve and ensure adherence to the Firm’s policies/procedures to reflect the Firm’s high standards. To be successful in this position requires the right combination of analytical research and writing skills, confidence, humility, creativity, common sense, humor, and an ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will possess:
License to practice law within the continental US
Extensive experience with federal law and administrative agency practices
Demonstrated successful drafting of legal documents (with correct citations), free of errors of all kinds, be they grammatical, spelling, syntax-related, a lack of clarity, or otherwise
Strong organizational skills and clarity in the presentation of his/her position and arguments in his/her writing
Proficiency in conducting legal research
Experience working in a team
An insatiable curiosity about life; gets a kick out of thinking critically
Time-management as a champ
A penchant for following instructions and works well with rules
No fears about asking for help and exposing a lack of clarity or uncertainty about a task to perform
Engage in a “leave-no-stone-unturned” level of research
Have an ability to distill dense information and turn it into something the next door neighbor’s kid could understand
Sufficient knowledge depth to not have to rely on ChatGPT to do his/her work

Education and Background:
This is a remote part-time / contract role that could become a long-term role either part-, or full-time. Several years experience is required, but also, if you are some years out of the market for family / other reasons, that is OK, we need someone who understands the work and don't mind if you need to get up to speed on current practice trends.
Prior law firm experience is required, as is direct engagement with clients. JD from a US law school and bar admission are also required.
Compensation and Benefits:
In your cover letter provide us with your hourly salary requirements. After one (1) year with the firm where you are working 20 or more hrs/week, we will cover the cost of a single state bar renewal, and you will become eligible for our CLE credit reimbursement program.
