We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, full-time Personal Care Aide (PCA) to head our personal care team. In this role, you will make a difference in the life of a young woman with movement disorder and neurological disorder by enhancing the quality of her life, promoting her well-being and helping promote her independence in the home and out in the community.
The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, engaging, observant and adaptable. This person is a leader, self driven, organized and takes pride and a personal interest in their clients. Responsibilities
- Serve as Care team head, taking full responsibility for implementation of care directives
- Communicate updates and daily instructions to other care team members
- Assist with personal hygiene needs, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Assist with mobility exercises, walking and transfers
- Prepare nutritious vegan meals and assist with feeding when needed
- Help with transportation for medical appointments, grocery shopping, and errands
- Light housekeeping activities such as food prep, cleaning, laundry, and organizing
- Dispense medication as per prescribed schedules and document accurately.
- Supply personal companionship, remaining actively engaged by providing ongoing social activities & emotional support
and adhering to Person Centered Plan.
- Administrative functions such as attending care plan meetings, documentation of task completion and reporting changes
in the client’s physical condition or behavior to the rest of the team.
Qualifications
- Active Maryland state certification required: Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- 3 years experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar role is required.
- Reliability, professionalism, and punctuality are strict requirements
- Extensive knowledge and strict implementation of health and safety guidelines
- Background check and drug screening (will be completed upon hiring)
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for transportation to work and on job
- Ability to implement and supervise the execution of a detailed care plan
- Proficient housekeeping and cooking skills
- Strong communication and management skills with attention to detail.
- Works well within a team and families.
