Job Position 2: Community Development Professional, (weekdays)
Service: Community Development Services ($32.55/hour)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0900 am – 0300 pm
30 hours per week
Job Summary: The Community Development Professional will provide support to attend activities that are most important to them. Activities include going to the gym, swimming pool, mall, sporting events, and grocery store.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Support with transportation to activities and events.
Support with mobility and safety via a combination of wheelchair and aided walking.
Support with daily nutrition and hydration during time in the community.
Support with interactions with friends and other participants in related activities.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to guide a person through physical tasks ensuring an obstacle-free environment.
Ability to support oral feeding.
Patience and ability to learn to communicate with a deaf and non-verbal person who communicates through facial expressions, objects, cues, and routines.
Interpersonal skills to dialog with people to address impediments to participation in community activities.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
First Aid Certification
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
Certified Medicine Technician, employer will pay for certification if you do not have it.
Valid Maryland driver’s license, insurance and good driving record
Must have evidence of being vaccinated against COVID and flu.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift at least 80 pounds
Must live in Montgomery County Maryland or in close vicinity.
Other
Must have a vehicle in good working order with wheelchair storage capacity.
Must have insurance coverage that includes passengers.
