Title: Technical WriterLocation: On-Site Alexandria, VA 22206Type: Direct HireClearance: Active Secret ClearanceSummary:The Technical Writer will be responsible for collecting and organizing data and information in preparation of documents, training materials, and deployment guides. This includes conducting research of highly technical subject matter organizes information from multiples sources, and express technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers. The person will primarily be working on documentation and will need to work with technical staff to interpret information for nontechnical and technical user. Providing information and recommendations for formats, communication channels, etc. to the team and customer would be ideal.Requirements:Experience with editing, preparing, and producing technical reports and documentation.Experience with style guides and formatting of technical documentation and manuals.Experience developing diagrams, drawings and interpreting engineering drawings into documentation.Experience designing and developing graphics and illustrations for use in technical materials, manuals, and publications.Experience with audio or video editing software, preferably with Adobe Captivate.Ability to effectively collaborate with departmental and technical staff.Ability to deliver high-quality documentation with a demonstrated attention to detail.Other Requirements:Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.4+ years' experience in technical writing, proofing and editing (white paper, manuals, instructions, etc.)Experience working with government organizations.Previous experience as SharePoint administrator is a plus.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard torace, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with state and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance.
