Position Overview:

An upscale restaurant in the heart of Alexandria’s Old Town is seeking a polished, experienced Fine Dining Chef/Line Cook to join our dynamic team. Our establishment prides itself on delivering an exceptional culinary experience. We are looking for individuals who excel in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and have a passion for hospitality.

Duties:

- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices

- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff

- Follow recipes and presentation specifications to ensure consistency and quality

- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies

- Clean up the kitchen and maintain a sanitized and orderly work area

- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly

- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

- Assist with menu planning and help create new dishes

- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operations

Experience:

- Proven experience as a Line Cook or relevant role in a restaurant or food service establishment

- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and methods

- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, such as knives, grills, ovens, etc.

- Understanding of food safety practices and regulations

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively

Skills:

- Menu planning

- Food handling

- Dietary aide experience is a plus

- Meal preparation

- Knowledge of food safety practices

- Ability to use kitchen equipment, including knives, grills, ovens, etc.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience in fine dining or upscale kitchen.

Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

A team-oriented mindset.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
