Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced cook to join our team in an award-winning wine and food setting! The ideal candidates will have 5-7 years of experience in a fine dining or upscale casual kitchen environment. Experience working in an open kitchen is a plus.
Duties:
-Assist in the preparation and execution of high-quality dishes, ensuring customer satisfaction through delicious and visually appealing meals.
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, toasting, and/or grilling
-Follow written recipes and presentation requirements with precision and accuracy
- Cook menu items in seamless cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including deep fryer, salamander, grills, and stove.
- Maintain a clean working station while adhering to food safety standards.
- Assist with inventory management by keeping a complete, detailed inventory and reporting with precision and accuracy.
Requirements:
- Proven experience with hospitality references to support in a fast-paced kitchen environment (two professional hospitality references required).
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Interest in international flavors and recipes is a must!
-Tremendous attention to detail and passion for visually appealing food.
-Experience with cutting and serving cheese and charcuterie.
- Understanding of food safety practices. Food manager certifications are a plus.
- Ability to work in a team setting with a positive attitude.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues. Professionalism and leadership skills are must-haves!
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
-Ability to stand for 6-8 hours required
-Ability to lift at least 50lbs required
-Ability to work nights and weekends required. Restaurant opening days are Wednesday-Sunday.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
