Visa is seeking a proactive product, business and commercial lawyer to join its growing legal team that supports Visa’s Value-Added Services organization. The position is for a Senior Associate Counsel, who will report to a Senior Managing Counsel, Visa Legal: Value-Added Services.

The role includes responsibility for supporting Risk and Identity Services, either as the lead attorney for certain products and services or as part of a small team of experienced counsel. Products and services include Visa’s new and existing Value-Added Services relating to risk and identity products. The attorney will work closely with other experienced Visa lawyers and compliance professionals and regularly engage directly with business clients.

Applicants must be skilled at (1) managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and challenging, but highly rewarding environment, (2) have good judgment and strong analytical, client counseling, and negotiation skills, (3) be an adept issuer spotter and creative problem solver, (4) be self-motivated, and (5) most importantly, be an optimistic, curious, and collaborative team player.

Essential FunctionsWork closely with business teams to understand and achieve key business objectives and help them develop compelling product and service offeringsProvide advice and counsel to business line and management on transactional legal matters and proposed corporate actions and projectsDraft, negotiate, and drive to completion complex commercial agreements that achieve business objectives, and continue to support those business relationships once consummatedProvide sophisticated and creative counseling and advice to business teams regarding product development, deployment, and associated commercial and contracting considerationsLead review of product related marketing and sales materialsManage regulatory support, including jurisdiction specific regulatory reviews and evaluation of how shifts in regulatory landscapes may impact Visa and its partnersWork closely with Visa’s regional legal and business teams globally, and assist these teams in resolving regional and local issues, including to achieve consistency on approaches and issues by Visa worldwideReview externally facing documentation for compliance with securities laws, disclosure policies, data use policies and requirements, competition law issues, etc.Where required, coordinate and supervise outside counsel for timeliness, cost-effectiveness, and excellence of service and work productThis is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
