job detailsjob summary:Job Description: Senior Appian DeveloperPosition Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Appian Developer to provide expert oversight and leadership in infrastructure, requirements gathering, design, and implementation of key business initiatives and core engineering projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Appian technologies, data modeling, system integrations, and application testing, and will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational readiness of solutions before they go into production.Key Responsibilities:
Oversight of Requirements Gathering: Lead and provide oversight for gathering and interpreting infrastructure requirements across the portfolio pipeline. Clarify requirements and ensure all teams understand the business objectives behind them.
Design & Implementation Reviews: Lead and participate in design and implementation reviews for key projects. Ensure operational readiness and best practices are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Technology Expertise: Provide expertise in data modeling, system integrations, best practices, and application testing to support business initiatives.
Collaboration with Teams: Partner with architecture and development teams during business planning sessions to align technology solutions with strategic business goals.
Solution Review & Improvement: Review existing solutions to identify and remediate issues and gaps in resiliency, risk, and performance. Provide technology guidance to enhance strategic plans.
Hands-on Development: Perform coding, peer reviews, and design solutions using Appian, ensuring robust and scalable implementations.
Appian Expertise: Utilize deep knowledge of Appian objects and tools, including Sites, Records, Reports, Expression Rules, Web APIs, Process Models, and more, to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Framework Building: Develop frameworks and leverage BPM concepts for Appian solutions. Contribute to the architecture of Appian Process/Solution and Infrastructure, including in-memory KDB engines, scaling, and sizing.
User Interface Development: Lead the development of cross-browser and cross-device compliant user interfaces using the latest UI frameworks such as Angular JS, React JS, and others.
Agile Methodologies: Apply experience with agile methodologies to ensure timely and efficient delivery of solutions.
Plugin Development: Develop and maintain Appian plugins, including Smart Services, Function Plugins, Servlet Plugins, and Connected Systems.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 12 years of IT experience, with at least 7-8 years focused on delivering solutions using Appian.
Appian Expertise: Extensive experience with Appian versions 20x/21x/22x, including the ability to write complex Appian SAIL code beyond basic drag-and-drop functionality.
Implementation Experience: Proven track record of leading three or more end-to-end Appian BPM implementations (Design/Develop/Deploy/Package).
Technical Knowledge: deep understanding of Appian architecture, including App Servers (JBOSS, TOMCAT), Web Servers (Apache), and in-memory KDB engines.
UI Development: Expert in user interface development, with experience in modern UI frameworks like CSS3/HTML5/JavaScript/Angular JS/React JS.
Programming Skills: Hands-on experience in writing Appian Plugins, and familiarity with J2EE Design Patterns, JMS Messaging Services, Spring Security Framework, and Hibernate Technologies.
Automation Tools: Exposure to RPA, AI, and intelligent automation tools.
Database Skills: Proficiency in SQL coding using SQL Server, MySQL, or Maria DB.
Preferred Qualifications:
Appian Certifications: Relevant Appian certifications are highly desirable.
Innovative Thinking: Ability to think strategically and provide technology guidance that aligns with business strategies.
