The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of this position either with or without reasonable accommodations.SUMMARYThe Evaluator is assigned to the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and performs evaluation and review work in accordance with the standards and procedures in the OIG Audit Manual and in the Association of Inspectors General (AIG) publication entitled “Principles and Standards for Offices of Inspector General” (i.e., the Green Book). The incumbent participates in pre-evaluation planning, verification of program background information, evaluative work paper preparation and reporting. In addition, the incumbent assists with the verification of specific evaluation segments or issues. The Evaluator prepares detailed summaries, draft findings, and participates in writing the final report. The incumbent requests guidance on assignments when problems are encountered. Their work is part of a larger project and is reviewed in support of findings and recommendations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serves as a member of a team responsible for conducting reviews and evaluations of Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority (WMATA)’s activities covering broad and complex problem areas.
Assists with the review/evaluation of management and statistical data systems to ascertain reliability and usefulness.
With minimal guidance, prepares work papers and ensures documentation is in accordance with OIG policies, procedures, and professional evaluation standards as established by AIG’s Green Book.
Under general guidance, formulates written reports that are factual, objective, and conform to AIG and OIG professional standards.
Maintains effective relationships when representing OIG by exemplifying the highest professional standards of conduct.
Assists the Deputy Director with evaluating responses from WMATA management and provides recommendations of appropriate action by OIG on each agency response.
Works effectively as a team member to make valuable contributions for the success of the team.
