KIPP DC also offers a 403(b) retirement account with employer contributions and match, vesting after three years.Responsibilities The KIPP DC CTO leads KIPP DC’s talent acquisition, human resources, and talent development. One of the CTO’s elevated priorities is to update and execute on the innovative and effective strategy that enables KIPP DC to recruit exceptional instructional and regional staff in the context of a changing educational landscape. Relatedly, the CTO will develop a multipronged retention strategy that promotes long-term stability and enhanced student and system performance. The CTO will also manage and lead the multilayered talent team, which include employees with a variety of tenure and experience.The CTO’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Lead the talent teamManage a multilayered team of approximately 30 peopleSet annual vision and associated goalsManage the talent team’s annual budget of $20 millionDevelop systems to invest the team and hold the team accountableGrow future leaders by mentoring direct reports and providing meaningful feedback on a regular basisPrioritize equity and inclusion in all areas of workDesign and execute on strategy to recruit exceptional instructional and regional staffOversee the recruitment of approximately 200 employees annuallyDevelop a talent strategy that targets experienced educators, educators from the District of Columbia, and educators of colorContinuously improve on existing selection processes, with a focus on equitable hiring practicesInnovate and create new systems to collect and analyze data from recruitment pipelines and selection processesEnsure KIPP DC’s HR operations are efficient and scalableOversee human resources administration functions including benefits, compensation, employee relations, customer service, compliance, staff policies, and staff information systemsContinuously improve on the effectiveness and efficiency of KIPP DC’s core HR operationsGather and analyze data necessary for compliance reporting and internal benchmarkingSupport regional staffSupport hiring managers with onboarding, which includes the planning and facilitation of centralized training and onboarding activities for new hiresSupport team member development, including individual contributors to senior leaders, by sourcing and facilitating learning opportunitiesBuild and implement strategies to support a high-performing and diverse workforceBuild data driven systems that allow us to learn from our current recruitment, development, and retention effortsStrengthen the regional evaluation system to provide regular and meaningful improvement, growth, and accountability for staffLead network initiatives to build a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforceDevelop initiatives to support the professional development of staff in alignment with KIPP DC’s organizational goalsServe as a member of KIPP DC’s executive teamSet and drive toward organizational priorities and lead changeServe as a culture carrier and thought leader for the organizationCollaborate within and across functional areasServe as a key external representative of KIPP DCShare talent best practices and collaborate across a network of 20+ KIPP regions nation-wide
