Network Systems Engineer, Mid Shift: 12a to 12p Sunday - Tuesday • Operate and maintain the core backend enterprise network composed of LAN, WAN, mobile platforms, VPN, COMSEC / encryption and other network infrastructure. Provide network monitoring, issue detection and documentation. • Review network performance data, conduct capacity planning, and identify recommendations for improvement of network performance, capacity, and reliability. • Configure network elements to support mission requirements. • Troubleshoot network issues and outages. • Coordinate with external government agencies to submit technical requirements, resolve performance issues, and support new project execution. • Support Operational Testing and Evaluation activities. • Maintain circuit lists and other network configuration management artifacts. May include 24x7x365 shift work in a NOC environment.Basic Qualifications: • 5+ year relevant experience including: o Experience with Internet Protocol (IP) networking, including routing and switching o Experience with firewall vendors o Experience with network administration o Experience with IT network design and deployment o Experience with enterprise networks o Experience in an operational environment o Experience in configuring and operating heterogeneous, multi-vendor networks • Ability to obtain/ maintain a DOD TS/SCI Clearance • BS or MS in IT, Computer Engineering or a related technical field • CCNA, JNCIA, or other industry standard certificationsAdditional Qualifications:• Ability to support shift work in 24x7x365 environment • Experience with DoD networks preferred • Familiarity with network management protocols including SNMP and SSH • Experience with network monitoring tools • Experience with installing and troubleshooting network cabling • Familiarity with DoD and NSA IA and Security Standards • Knowledge of / experience with Type 1 Encryption and / or Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) policy and implementations • Proficient with Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills • CCNP, CCIEEEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
