Job Summary

This is a part-time position. Serve and help helping in the preparation, presentation and serving of specialty meats, delicacies, preserved foods, cheeses, salads, breads, and sweets to patrons. Assist in weighing, pricing and wrapping selected foods on plates, trays and in bags. Prepare food displays in counter cases and other display units. Greet customers as they arrive at service counter, take special orders, and answer basic customer questions about specialty foods.

Primary Duties

- Set up food on self-serving lines and portion food for individual servings in accordance with instructions.

- Use prepared ingredients and following routine, repetitive steps, make hot and cold sandwiches, fruit and vegetable trays, salads and rotisserie chicken. May slice and/or mix simple ingredients.

- Refill cold bars, salad bars, pastry cabinets, condiments, juice dispensers, and set up dining rooms.

- Replace glassware, dishes, and silverware. Wipe and wash tables and countertops.

- Clean work area, utensils, and equipment; remove garbage; mop floors, walls, and tables

- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

- Remove dirty dishes, glasses, and silverware from serving counters.

- Mix washing solutions and operate electric dish washing machine and/or wash dishes, glassware, pots and pans, and kitchen utensils by hand.

- Maintain in a sanitary condition equipment and work areas, utensils, and tables.

- Perform ware-washing and keep pot and pan areas in order prior to, during, and after meals.

- Follow correct techniques, cleaning schedules, and tasks.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.

- One-year food service-related experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Strong customer service skills required.

- Knowledge of safe sanitation procedures.

- Ability to work in an environment around many different pieces of equipment and individuals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. The employee may occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
