Maintains technical subject matter expertise and a thorough understanding of current business processes. Acts as subject matter expert in specific area of technical (operational) expertise. Consults with business partners to clarify and define work procedures and processes and develop and document new work procedures and processes. Keeps abreast of current regulatory initiatives and assess their impact on instructor training.Senior Instructor (Nuclear)Develop instructional materials and conduct training for various technical training programs at the Company's s nuclear power stations. An incumbent at this level should have in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory as well as expertise in the technical area for which he or she is providing training. This level works on the most complex training topics and is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating training in the classroom, laboratory, and on-the-job. This level also is responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory, and legal requirements.Senior Instructor (Nuclear Operations)Develop instructional materials and conduct training for licensed and non-licensed operators at the Company's nuclear power stations. An incumbent at this level should have in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory as well as hold or have held an SRO license, SRO certification. The individual also is required to participate in rigorous technical and instructional continuing training. This instructor level works on the most complex training topics and is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating training in the main control room simulator, classroom, laboratory, and on-the-job. This level also is responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory, and legal requirements.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & ExperienceThe knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:Senior Instructor5+ years of related experience. Considerable related experience. In-depth subject matter expertise in technical area of instruction. Thorough understanding of business processes related to area of instruction. In depth knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design. Proficiency in equipment operation/troubleshooting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent personal computer skills. Competence in using software applications critical to target audience. Excellent problem-solving skills Excellent time management skills. Good coaching skills. Ability to work well with minimal supervision. Ability to analyze job tasks and develop training materials. Ability to train and lead others. Ability to interface with regulatory personnel and industry peersSenior Instructor (Nuclear)12 + years of related experience OR;Certified Instructor (including 5+ years of experience) OR;RO or SRO (including 5+ years of experience) OR;Sr Instructor Training Cert from Dominion (including 5+ years of experience)In depth knowledge of instructional theory and design and SAT.Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, good personal computer, operate various instrumentation and controls, problem solving.Abilities: Analyze and develop training materials, train and lead others, interface with regulatory personnel and industry peers, informal leadership skills, ability to effectively communicate with regulators.Senior Instructor (Nuclear Operations)13-15 years related experience. In depth knowledge of instructional theory and design and SAT. Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, good personal computer, operate various instrumentation and controls, problem solving. Abilities: Analyze and develop training materials, train and lead others, interface with regulatory personnel and industry peers, in-depth knowledge of plant operations and systems.Education RequirementsDegree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:BachelorPreferred Discipline: EngineeringOther disciplines may be substituted for the preferred disciplines(s) listed above.Licenses, Certifications, or Quals DescriptionANSI/ANS-3.1-2014, Section 4.5.4Education requirements: High school diplomaMinimum experience for the position:Related experience which shall include 2 yrs; Nuclear power plant experience to include 0.25 yrs. Special requirements:1.) Shall have demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through training or experience and be certified as a qualified instructor for the material being presented;2.)
