Description Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to assist our client in the health insurance industry. Located in Trumbull, Connecticut, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to process customer applications, maintain accurate customer records, and resolve customer inquiries. The role also involves monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate action.Responsibilities: Review and process invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring correct account coding Prepare payable vouchers and enter them into the general ledger system Process check payments in a timely manner while maintaining accuracy Work with vendors to resolve discrepancies in billing and payment terms Assist in the monthly accruals process, ensuring all vendor invoices for a specific time period are accounted for Maintain and update vendor files regularly Use accounting software systems to perform various accounting functions Handle the collection of payments from customers Assist in the process of coding invoices.Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role Proficiency in accounting software systems Demonstrated knowledge of account coding Experience with accounts payable (AP) Ability to effectively code invoices Proven experience in collecting payments Capability to maintain vendor files Skill in managing monthly accruals Experience in bill pay Familiarity with accounting functions Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Knowledge of relevant federal regulations and standards.
