This is a hybrid position with up to 75% travel. This position is open to qualified candidates in the continental United States.WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOWAmerican Red Cross Instructor Trainer Educators – Lifeguard Instructor (LGI), Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and First Aid, CPR, AED Instructor (FA CPR AED I) serve as leaders, ambassadors and role models for the specialty area programs that they represent. The Training Services Instructor Trainer Educator’s primary responsibility is to instruct American Red Cross Instructor Trainer Academies. Educators are responsible for providing high quality instruction, providing necessary reports in a timely manner and properly maintaining equipment in their possession or under their delegated responsibility.The Instructor Trainer Educator team teaches pre-approved IT Academies in donated space from aquatic facilities and American Red Cross chapters. This position is responsible for providing high quality, superior instruction, communicating expectations and performance evaluation to course attendees, providing necessary reports and managing/cleaning equipment under their delegated responsibility.WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

Teach Instructor Trainer academies as designed in the assigned specialty area for the American Red Cross only when approved and directed by Training Services.

Coordinate with co-instructor in preparation for academy. Prepare and distribute pre-class assignments for course participants and post-course reporting appropriately and within the defined timelines.

Prepare and submit electronic and hard copy paperwork from the course.

Coordinate with host site management to ensure equipment is available safe and ITE knows how it works.

Evaluate and communicate IT Candidate performance and progress throughout the course.

Set up and tear down classroom space each day. Ensure all materials borrowed from the host site have been returned.

Participate in regular meetings (typically conference calls), to receive updates and provide input on academies. In-service training or engagement opportunities will be offered occasionally.

Serve as part of a team of Instructor Trainer Educators that will provide constructive feedback and support to improve program quality.

Serve as a role model for other instructors acting as an ambassador for excellence in training in the specialty area.

Assist with quality assurance activities, if available. This may involve in-person, online and/or “remote” activity.

Assist in instructor and instructor trainer engagement activities if needed and or available. This may involve in-person, online and/or “remote” activity.

Assist in instructor and instructor trainer engagement activities and/or available such as serving on focus groups, performing product/process testing, or providing general feedback as assigned by Service Delivery Leadership.

Submit availability to teach to Academy and Training Manager

Commitment to teach a minimum of 2 academies per month.

Delivery of retraining and CEU training as assigned.

Assist with LTP Social message board as assigned.

Standard Schedule: variable scheduleThe salary range for this position is $23.00-$25.00 an hour. Note: that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience : Current certification as an Instructor Trainer in good standing with a preferred 5 years minimum of experience. (Water Safety Instructor Trainer, Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, FA/CPR/AED Instructor Trainer), Recent (within one year) teaching experience in instructor-level courses and recent (within three years) basic-level classes of the specialty area.

Experience with a variety of course sizes and delivery types preferred. Note: WSIT Educators must have experience teaching Red Cross swim lessons in the past, but the experience does not have to be within the last three years.

Current basic-level certification in First Aid/CPR/AED. (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers or equivalent)

Ability to demonstrate, evaluate and remediate specialty area skills to the Red Cross standard.

Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter, including Red Cross materials and program policies as it relates to the specialty area.

Ability to perform all administrative work required by specialty area including use of blended learning, experience with online courses, electronic course record entry, etc.

Have experience with technology – ability to communicate via email, use web-based systems, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Have excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to problem solve in difficult situations and with a variety of customers.

Willingness and ability to travel to teach academies.

Ability to transition to alternative tasks as needed when not teaching academies.

Evidence of excellence in teaching, including specialty area and/or specialty area-specific industry work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Work experience in the industry of the specialty area, i.e., waterpark supervisor, aquatic director, waterfront camp supervisor, swim lesson programmer, EMT, etc. preferred.

Basic-level certification in the specialty area of the Instructor Trainer Educator.

Evidence of speaking or teaching experience in adult education environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to travel 75%+ Able to work long days.

Adaptable to teaching in multiple, variable environments.

Physical-ability to lift up to 40 pounds, get in and out of pools multiple times during the course of a training, carry equipment variable distances to get it in and out of pool facility.
