Employment Type:Part timeShift:Rotating ShiftDescription:This is a per diem with rotation opportunity, you must commit to (1) 8 hour shift as needed. The pandemic has placed the nursing workforce under pressure and because of this, we are offering nursing students a choice to undertake extended work in hospitals to bolster the nursing workforce that is required care for this population.COVID-19 coronavirus’s ripple effects extend so far beyond health and health care. Life does not look the same and we’re all affected in some way, but senior nursing students have a distinct set of circumstances related to the second wave and have an opportunity to be key players in healing the community. This time in history is challenging, and we are facing many unknowns. But nursing students set to graduate in 1-2 years are in a unique position to see how the profession they are entering responds to a crisis. How nurses are working together to protect themselves, other nurses, and the greater good of the community. How they are educating the public and advocating for the health of the majority. How they are lifting each other up during a stressful time and innovating in their day-to-day work. These characteristics are not new for COVID-19; they are at the heart of what we do every day at any point in time. It is wonderful to see it on display for the larger public so they can understand the strength of the nursing profession.Working in healthcare requires a remarkable amount of flexibility. Each day is unpredictable and in some ways that is part of the appeal. COVID-19 has forced us to change our daily routines and no longer allows us to care for our patients in the same ways we have in the past.To all nursing students, we empathize this is happening during such an important transition in your life. But we are grateful you can witness the power of nursing and have an opportunity to see how your soon-to-be peers are handling this pandemic, advocating for the profession, and caring for patients even when faced with numerous obstacles.
