Description: The WorkLooking to expand your skills? Do you want to become an expert?You’ll be using your knowledge of drawing and specification interpretation, inspection techniques and aircraft commodities to determine requirements and provide guidance and oversight to supplier Inspectors.You’ll set up inspection plans and master data for parts in process, and resolve system data issues to ensure the free flow of material through processes.You’ll work alongside experts diagnosing and correcting problems, eliminating the causes or mitigating their effects and improving processes. Problems will range from simple to complex.You’ll have an increasingly independent role on our team of experts ensuring that our products are reliably delivered to our customers when they need them, where they need them and in the expected condition to satisfy their demanding mission requirements.You’ll have an opportunity to partner with product and process experts from Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, IT, Suppliers and Customers to develop creative and effective solutions to problems that can impact our customer’s ability to meet their mission objectives. You’ll expand your knowledge of manufacturing, processing and testing for all the different commodities that go into manufacturing aircraft…machined parts, sheet metal fabricated parts, avionics, hydraulics, elastomers, bearings, gears, composites and more. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop expertise in a multitude of software systems.You must have excellent interpersonal, analytical and critical thinking skills. You must be able to absorb new information efficiently and work with increasing independence. You possess the ability to predict the causal effects of actions or inaction.Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company is a world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced helicopters for commercial and military missions. This position is at our North Haven, CT 3PL warehouse.You will be responsible for the following activities: Provide expertise and guidance to the inspection teams. Work with teams to perform root cause analysis, and determine effective corrective action for any confirmed quality system escapes. Work with teams to evaluate and improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes. Assign and follow up on corrective action requests for audit findings and quality system escapes. Participate in the Quality Clinic. Audit the warehouse Quality System processes. Monitor and report on KPIs. Process and disposition nonconforming material incidents. Provide training to supplier’s quality personnel. Participate in the Corrective Action Board. Collect and analyze data. Prepare slides and present data Provide reports and feedback to supplier and Sikorsky Quality management.
