Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety/Compliance Manager to oversee and manage the safety and regulatory compliance programs within our millwork company. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations, and ensuring adherence to industry-specific standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA and industry standards.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of work areas and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
Lead safety training programs for employees, ensuring proper handling of machinery, materials, and adherence to safety protocols.
Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local regulations and ensure company policies reflect current safety and compliance requirements.
Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents, providing reports and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Maintain safety records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with management to foster a safety culture and improve employee awareness of safety practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field (preferred).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in a manufacturing or millwork setting.
In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and risk management practices.
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to train and engage employees at all levels.
