About the Client
A retired, independent woman is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to assist with day-to-day household operations and culinary needs in her private home. The household includes a friendly, well-loved dog, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable and caring around pets.
Position Overview
This is a temporary, part-time role offering approximately 20 hours per week (typically 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend needs). The role focuses on the preparation of healthy, organic meals and comprehensive household support.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare nutritious, organic meals daily, with a focus on dinner service
- Perform daily housekeeping duties, including cleaning, tidying, laundry, and dishwashing
- Walk and care for the household dog as needed, including occasional overnight stays for pet-sitting
- Run errands such as grocery shopping, prescription pickups, and dry cleaning drop-offs
- Maintain overall home organization and cleanliness
- Conduct light home maintenance (e.g., replacing light bulbs, simple household fixes)
- Liaise with professional service providers for home maintenance when necessary
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be proactive, reliable, and discreet, with a warm and professional demeanor. Key qualifications include:
- Proven experience in private household management and meal preparation
- High attention to detail and a strong sense of initiative
- Genuine affection for animals and experience in pet care
- Exceptional time management and multitasking skills
- Strong communication abilities and a respectful, service-oriented attitude
- Comfortable using technology for scheduling, reminders, and communication
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 15–20 lbs
- Must pass a background check
Details
- Location: Niantic, CT
- Hours: Part-time, 4 hours/day Mon-Fri or roughly 20 hours/week, sometimes weekends, 2-6pm schedule flexible
- Compensation: $30/hour based on experience
- Duration: June 1, 2025 - September 15, 2025 (unless you’re open to travel to CA)
