The Schochet Companies is currently seeking a Compliance Assistant.

Shepherd Park is an Elderly apartment community located in Hartford, CT

Essential Duties of Job:

1. Perform a range of administrative and customer service functions in accordance with the Compliance department.

2. Assist with tracking and reviewing files from property as assigned in keeping with time sensitive occupancy requirements

3. Assist residents in completing, understanding and signing all documents related to housing assistance to ensure compliance with program rules.

4. Assist with collecting all necessary documents for tenant files. Files must follow HUD and Federal Management standards. Ensure all necessary documents are in tenant files, up-to-date and in the correct order. Organize current files and purge old documentation from files in accordance to rules and procedures as directed by supervisory staff.

5. Answer phone questions regarding the properties wait list and application questions.

6. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Professional certification in this field is necessary within a few months of beginning this position. Excellent math skills are needed in order to calculate income and rent. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Excellent customer service, strong attention to detail, organization and strong follow through skills are also required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. One to three years of related job experience is helpful.
