We are looking for an experienced, hardworking, and personable Retail Sales Associate to provide excellent customer service and drive sales at our busy downtown Durango retail store.
As the face of Urban Market, you will be responsible for creating the ultimate enjoyable experience for all shoppers and supporting the other staff and leadership team to do the same. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Cultivating Sales and Curating Customer Experiences
Provide excellent customer service at all times, modeling Urban Market’s ideals and culture traits.
Facilitate guest experiences and ensure each one is enjoyable, genuine, and meaningful while driving sales
Help the sales team as a whole meet or exceed daily sales goals
Act as a brand ambassador, and embody Urban Market’s ideals of a fun, friendly atmosphere towards all customers and coworkers
Encourage upsells, cross-sells, and additional product recommendations by maintaining a robust product knowledge of current inventory and trends
Product & Inventory Management
Ensure all products are quickly and efficiently restocked on the sales floor and new products are properly displayed as outlined by the Retail Store Manager
Communicate in a timely manner with manager or owners when products need to be reordered
Front End Operations
Execute sales and check out customers via POS system
Maintain an accurate cash drawer and daily reports
Maintain front end supplies and make sure they are always stocked
Ensure store is clean and easy to navigate at all times
Qualifications:
At least two years of retail experience
Commitment to providing excellent customer service at all times
Ability to work as a member of a team while also executing independent tasks and decision making
Must be a self-starter and be willing to jump into whatever task is needed
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and good organizational skills
Knowledge of basic computer programs and experience with POS systems
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Value personal and professional growth
Must be dependable, reliable and enthusiastic about being part of our team
Be comfortable standing for long periods of time and able to lift 25-50 lbs
Be available to work Saturdays, summer months, and the holiday season
Salary dependent on experience, with ongoing performance-based bonuses.
