OVERVIEW:
Groundskeepers, under the supervision of the assistant superintendents, perform routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance from late spring until early fall, including maintenance work, operation of small hand-powered equipment and some construction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Operates mowers and string trimmers used in trimming around greens, tees, trees, fence lines, banks, bunkers, and cart paths.
2. Routinely rakes and maintains the highest quality bunker conditions, including daily hand raking, checking sand depth, debris removal, and weeding and weekly edging, mowing, and conditioning.
3. Performs other hand work required for conditioning around golf course, such as string trimming, backpack blowing, debris cleanup, weeding and mulching.
4. Uses hand edging equipment to maintain around course yardage markers, irrigation heads, cart path edges, and other fixed surfaces.
5. Other duties include hand top dressing low spots, sand – seed divots, native trimming or weeding, pine straw bed maintenance, trash detail, aeration cleanup, and algae removal.
6. Use all equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
7. Must be able to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift 70 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
2. Experience is preferred.
3. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
4. A friendly and energetic personality with a service focus.
5. Availability to work flexible shifts.
6. Able to meet and maintain physical requirements.
7. Must be able to multi-task efficiently within a fast-paced and high stress environment.
