Receives general direction from respective supervisor and works from CORE's procedures and general objectives; however, plans and arranges own work. Requires discretion in the handling of confidential and personnel matters. Has regular outside and inside contacts in conducting CORE's programs. Work is a combination of office and field activities and requires accuracy.This is a NON-EXEMPT onsite position at our Sedalia office with no remote or hybrid work options available.You will
Prepares and organizes work to be performed by the line crews.
Ensures aid to electricians is completed in a responsible and timely manner.
Assesses service and consumer needs and schedules work.
Reviews and ensures outage reports.
Knows applicable computer skills required to perform job duties.
Plans operations to make sure that all materials, equipment, and supplies are available on the job and assigns specific jobs to the line crews.
Travels to the construction and repair sites to supervise the work in the field to make sure that quantity and quality of work are maintained.
Verifies that all service orders are worked in a timely manner.
Works closely with the Safety and Health Director and makes sure supervised employees develop and use safe work habits and follows the rules established within the Cooperative's Safety Manual.
Keeps his/her direct supervisor informed as to construction crews' schedules and assists in assigning construction completion target dates for both Cooperative and contract crews.
Makes sure that sufficient material is on hand to support various construction projects and requisitions necessary material on a regular basis to ensure that the inventory is complete.
Works closely with the Engineering Department to resolve any design problems that may arise.
Prepares work orders, recording expenditure of time and materials to the sheets, and submits them to the designated departments upon completion.
Makes sure time sheets, staking sheets, and material use tickets submitted by Linemen are correct and sent forward to General Accounting daily.
Inspects completed construction jobs.
Coordinates Cooperative resources to restore electric service in the event of an outage.
Informs District Manager of needed system improvements and assists in gathering necessary field data needed to complete the system improvement request form.
Reviews system improvement staking sheets prior to release for construction.
Makes sure that periodic line patrols are completed as scheduled.
Maintains rights-of-way in such a manner as to minimize tree problems.
Responsible for maintenance of all vehicles and equipment assigned to crews, establishes preventive maintenance programs on these vehicles, and schedules regular maintenance.
Responsible for recommending the specifications of construction crew equipment.
Verifies meal tickets and missed meal forms before forwarding to General Accounting.
Administers the Cooperative - IBEW Local 111 union contract and attempts to resolve first-step grievances.
Prepares and submits bargaining unit employee evaluations as scheduled.
Required to return to work in connection with callouts and emergency situations when directed to do so by supervisor.
Participates in various Cooperative committees as required.
Required to participate as the Supervisor On-Call per established rotation.
Supervises pole inspection activity and ensure that pole change outs, and related corrective work is completed per the Cooperative's Pole Inspection Program.
Ensures line locates are completed.
Reports all accidents to Safety and Health Director.

Strong knowledge of the specialized field of transmission and distribution line construction and maintenance is required.
High school diploma or equivalent is required, plus advanced trade knowledge equivalent to four years of apprenticeship.
Must have ten years of experience as a journeyman lineman.
A valid Colorado Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a DOT medical certificate are required and must be maintained. This position is subject to DOT controlled substance and alcohol testing regulations.
Furnishes direct supervision, development, and performance reviews of the CORE's Working Foremen, which involves accountability for results in terms of safety, costs, and methods.
Furnishes general supervision, development, and performance reviews of the CORE's construction line crews, which involves accountability for results in terms of safety, costs, methods, and personnel.
Preferred Qualifications :
Three years supervising line construction and maintenance work is preferred.
