Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for driving sales by visiting liquor stores, bars, and restaurants within a two-hour driving radius. In this role, you will also handle product deliveries, manage invoices, and ensure timely payment collections. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales and Client Relationship Management
- Conduct regular in-person sales calls and visits to liquor stores, bars, and restaurants within a 2-hour driving distance.
- Perform in-store tastings as needed.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships, providing product education and promotions.
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets while maintaining customer satisfaction.
2. Delivery and Logistics
- Coordinate and execute whisky deliveries to clients within assigned territory.
- Ensure all deliveries are accurate, on time, and comply with relevant regulations and company guidelines.
3. Invoice Management
- Prepare, deliver, and collect invoices during client visits.
- Work closely with the accounting team to track payments, follow up on outstanding balances, and maintain updated financial records.
4. Market Research and Reporting
- Stay informed of industry trends, competitor products, and pricing to effectively position and promote our portfolio.
- Provide regular feedback and sales reports to management, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
5. Customer Service and Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering product recommendations.
- Collaborate with internal team to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth operations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience:
- Proven track record in sales or account management, preferably in the beverage industry or FMCG sector.
- Experience in driving and making frequent client visits is a plus.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field is preferred.
- Knowledge & Interest:
- Passion for or knowledge of whisky and spirits is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with liquor store and restaurant operations is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar tools to create sales reports and manage invoices.
- Ability to learn and use CRM software to track leads, manage customer data, and record sales activity.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move cases of whisky (up to 50 lbs) as part of regular deliveries.
- Willingness to travel within a 2-hour radius on a regular basis.
