Upper Colorado Wild and Scenic Stakeholder Research:

Upper Colorado River Wild and Scenic Stakeholders Comprehensive Research Program: For the past 10 years, RRC has assisted a broad-based coalition of agencies with understanding the recreation users of public lands (anglers and floatboaters) through survey-based data collection and analysis. Stakeholders include the BLM, USFS, water agencies, environmental groups, and a wide variety of non-profits. A high-profile project, RRC has continually monitored angler and floatboater experiences, trip characteristics, and demographics across multiple segments of the river. Included are traffic counts of entry/exit points of the river at boat ramps and a collection of other relevant data including highway traffic counts, fee envelope data and commercial use data, all reported to inform the creation of standards for visitation and visitor use.

Date/Tasks

The interviews will occur at various boat pullouts along the Upper Colorado River. Past years’ interviewing locations have included: Radium, State Bridge, Two Bridges, Catamount, Pinball, Lyon’s Gulch, Dotsero, Grizzly, Two Rivers, etc. The interviews will be done during the day on a mix of weekday and weekend days. You will be working on the land (not on the river). The river interviewer shifts are typically 8-9 hours. There will be several river interviewing days per month and the number of days you cover would vary depending on your availability.
