- Operate heavy equipment
- Responsible for equipment inspection, cleanliness, fueling and repairs
- Experience building downhill trails with mini trackhoe
- Trail work could be required (i.e.: tree cutting, brush cutting, hand digging, etc.)
- A complete understanding of ski area maintenance, methods and trail systems
- Trail work is required, i.e.: tree cutting, brush cutting, hand digging, etc.
- Ability to work in changing conditions, working on extreme slopes and problem solving
- Assist other departments when appropriate: Ski Patrol emergencies, Ski School and Lift Operations grooming needs,
- Special Events races, Lift Maintenance fuel and operations.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements.
- Other duties, as assigned
- High school or GED equivalent
- Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license and will pass a motor vehicle background check
- Mountain and equipment knowledge, preferred
- Must have a minimum of 1 years experience operating heavy equipment and/or driving tandem or bigger trucks
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding equipment limitations, preferred
- Basic blue print understanding, preferred
- Must be safety oriented
- Must be self motivated
- Ability to interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with SSRC’s Service Excellence standards
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have excellent hand and eye coordination
- Must be able to lift approximately 40 lbs. (i.e. loading generators, pumps or other equipment)
- Able to walk on uneven terrain
- Must have and wear steel or hard toe shoes to work
- Must have good night vision for winter grooming
- Ability to work in changing conditions (i.e. cold, heat, inclement, wet situations), be able to work on extreme slopes with excellent problem solving and understanding equipment limitations
- This is an hourly paid position subject to overtime pay
- Position is temporary – employment from early June to late August
- Position requires working weekends and holidays as needed
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Steamboat area base hourly pay range: $15.50 - $21.00 per hour
