Job Description
Looking for experienced metal fabricators, or experienced trim carpenters (training is similar). We fabricate and install decorative, ornamental, and structural steel assemblies.
Skills Needed:
-General knowledge of construction and the built environment; residential and commercial.
-Metal Joining: MIG welding, TIG and Stick a plus but not used often in our shop, angle grinders, small hand tools: cutting and drilling steel and wood.
-Knowledge of layout of stairs and stair railings: rise/run, Pythagorean theorem, commercial and residential stair code ("4 inch rule, handrail requirements).
-Custom metal fabrication with focus on metal railings, stairs, gates, guard rails, doors, steel structures, planter boxes, steel trellises, etc, etc.
-Experience with installations. Installations are the most difficult and detail oriented aspect of this job. Experience with on site problem solving and running a crew of workers is a HUGE plus. NEED a very keen eye for quality! Installs of stairs, railings, and steel structures. Heavy lifting and hard work occurs daily.
-Experience with basic construction machinery: forklift, telehandler, duct jacks, etc.
-Experience with steel manufacturing and finishing processes like rolling, shear/brake, plasma cutting, waterjet cutting, punching, sawing, sanding, powder coat, galvanization, etc.
We need someone who has worked in the decorative metal industry before, or has been involved with highly detailed trim carpentry and has a knowledge of the same math and layout skills, and most importantly the efficiency skills involved in trim and casework.
