Attention Prep Cooks, Empire State Pizza is hiring for insiders/prep cooks for its 8th Ave location as well as its NEW 10th St. location opening soon.
About us: Empire State Pizza is an original concept restaurant, owned locally in Northern Colorado. It was founded in 2015 by a lifelong kitchen worker and a retired police detective. Our menu includes authentic NY-style pizza, salads, appetizers, and more. Our mission is simple: To provide top-quality food at a fast pace, while consistently exceeding our customers’ expectations of service and value!
Part Time 15-30 hours/week depending on availability.
Primarily Day shifts
General Duties of a Pizza Restaurant Prep Cook
-Ingredient Preparation
-Chop vegetables (e.g., onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes).
-Grate or slice cheeses.
-Prepare pizza dough (portioning, rolling, proofing).
-Slice and portion meats (pepperoni, sausage, ham, etc.).
-Make or portion sauces (e.g., tomato sauce, pesto).
-Station Setup
-Stock and organize the prep station with ingredients and utensils.
-Refill prep station as needed during service.
-Ensure all items are labeled and dated.
-Food Safety & Sanitation
-Maintain a clean and organized prep area.
-Follow proper food handling procedures.
-Regularly clean and sanitize work surfaces and tools.
-Monitor food temperatures and storage according to health codes.
-Inventory Management
-Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries.
-Report low stock or spoilage to kitchen management.
-Rotate stock using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
-Team Collaboration
-Communicate with cooks and kitchen staff to support smooth service.
-Assist with prep for other menu items when needed.
-Help during busy periods with basic cooking or assembly tasks.
-Miscellaneous Kitchen Support
-Portion sides (salads, breadsticks).
-Wrap and label items for storage or service.
-Take on light cleaning duties at end of shift (sweeping, dish area support).
