Financial Manager

Seeking an experienced Financial Manager to provide comprehensive accounting services and strategic financial advisory support. The role is for four interconnected faith-based organizations, working approximately 10 hours per week for each of the organizations, which operate from a shared location with common ownership. This position requires hands-on financial management expertise and a strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles. It also requires an understanding of the distinct values and mission of faith-based organizations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to integrity and an understanding of financial stewardship within a faith-based context. This position requires a proactive approach to financial management, the ability to translate financial information into actionable insights, and a dedication to ensuring the long-term financial health and sustainability of each organization.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Accounting

- Maintain accurate books and records for all four organizations using Quickbooks

- Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes

- Oversee payroll processing for two organizations and compliance with tax laws and regulations

- Coordinate reporting with external tax preparers

- Conduct monthly account reconciliations and journal entries

- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures

Business Advisory & Analysis

- Analyze financial performance trends and identify areas for improvement

- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial dashboards for each organization

- Provide strategic recommendations based on financial data analysis

- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes

- Conduct profitability analyses for each organization

- Support business planning and growth initiatives with financial modeling

- Advise business owners/managers on cost optimization and revenue enhancement opportunities

Cross-Organizational Management

- Coordinate financial activities across all four organizations

- Establish standardized reporting formats and procedures

- Identify opportunities for shared services or cost efficiencies

- Maintain confidentiality and appropriate separation between organizations

- Schedule and manage regular financial review meetings with each organization’s leadership

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial management or public accounting

- Proficiency in QuickBooks

- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

- Experience working with small to medium-sized businesses

Preferred Qualifications

- MBA or advanced degree in finance/accounting

- Experience managing finances for multiple entities simultaneously

- Background in business advisory or consulting services

- Knowledge of industry-specific accounting requirements

- Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A)

- Familiarity with business intelligence tools and data visualization

Working Arrangements

- Time Allocation: approximately 10 hours per week per organization (40 hours total)

- Schedule Flexibility: Ability to structure time efficiently across organizations

- Remote work possible with periodic on-site visits as needed

Compensation & Benefits
