Base pay in range will be determined by applicant’s skills and experience. Role is also eligible for monthly and quarterly commission opportunites.

ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for following Brookdale referral processes as well as acceptance guidelines to improve occupancy level and revenue production of the community. This includes managing pre-admission and admission processes and completing all activities required for an admission. Represents the community and increases awareness through participation in outside events and professional groups. Partners with community team to execute business development strategies to generate referrals.

Drives community occupancy to achieve and exceed goals.

Manages sales/admission process by assisting prospective residents, their family members, referral sources and/or advisors in, the decision making process by understanding their needs and educating them about the skilled services that Brookdale provides and how we can meet their needs. Responds promptly to every phone call, electronic referral or walk-in inquiries from all referral sources.

Conducts visits for patients, families utilizes Brookdale’s selling techniques and tools.

Utilizes established sales processes, systems and forms for sales to perform job duties, tracks all inquiries and referrals via company approved systems and keeps information updated for tracking/trending referrals, conversion ratios and reasons for non-admittance as well as utilization of Green, Yellow and Red acceptance criteria.

Keeps Interdisciplinary Care Team and key associates updated on the status of all prospective admissions.

Monitors conversion ratios by payer and analyzes data to prepare weekly and monthly reports. Provides frequent performance information to management. (IF community is larger and there is an Admission Director, the Director would be required to complete this task).

Maintains working knowledge of payer sources and utilizes them effectively to maximize revenue and expedite admissions.

Completes business develop sales calls as assigned.

Develops and maintains relationships with and generates leads through residents, family and professional referral sources on a daily/weekly basis. Provides and conducts visits about skilled services, programs and outcomes, market advantages, availability and other relevant information to meet the needs of prospective referral sources and community groups.

Effectively managed skilled bed availability and seeks opportunities for increasing revenue and creating other revenue streams.

Establishes positive customer service experience from initial point of contact through admission and transition to care team.

QualificationsEducation and ExperienceHigh School Education or Equivalent is required, College Degree from an accredited university in a related field is preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education is required. A minimum of two to five years of experience in health care environment working with seniors is require, preferably skilled nursing. Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special RequirementsFrequent car travel requires the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid drivers’ license. Computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office is required.Management/Decision MakingApplies existing guidelines and procedures to make a variety of decisions with a department. Uses sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems based problems based on precedent, example reasonableness or a combination of these. Able to effectively communicate complex issues across inter-departmental lines to gain consensus. Knowledge and SkillsHas a working knowledge of a skill or discipline that requires basic analytic ability. Has an overall understanding of the work environment and process. Has working knowledge of the marketing strategy and tactics, sales techniques, and sales control systems. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid regulations to include applicable processes for the product lines being sold. Knowledge of Medicare Advantage Contracts and other payers. Knowledge of state and federal regulations impacting or directing the delivery of services. Ability to operate personal computers and related software. Ability to effectively manage time, tasks and projects in a dynamic environment is required. Ability to build trust and act honestly in relationships with others. Ability to assess and understand customers’ expectations, needs and circumstances. Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and to treat people with dignity, respect, fairness and maturity.
