Build lead partnership
Hello! My name is Erin, and I am looking for someone with experience and enthusiasm to be a build lead to the project of finishing a tiny home on wheels.
I have worked up to this point with a mentor who is based in North Carolina, and with rebuilding from the floods and his workload, he feels that this project will be completed more steadily if I find a project lead / guide who is on the ground here in Colorado.
The project is a tiny home on wheels that is designed to be a self sustaining entity. It is 40’ x 10’, and somewhat of an earthship crossover, with passive solar design, water catchment, solar, and not needing to plug into water or power.
It will be my home as well as creative workspace / music studio.
I’d love to find someone who is experienced in carpentry, and has gone through the process of a home build several times, who feels they have the confidence, knowledge and experience to guide this project from where it is now (framing completed) to completion.
Id love to find someone who can facilitate time flow of all decisions and steps from the macro to micro, so that we can complete the project at a steady pace!
I’d love to find someone who enjoys mentoring and teaching what you know, and walking others through the process.
A part of the approach of this project so far has been my, and my classmates or other volunteers, potentially students, learning the skills and process of building as we go, and empowering others to build their own homes.
I created a nonprofit for this budding work, with the mission of sharing the skills of building, as well as creating models for sustaining, community and land integrated, and affordable housing, for which I see this home as an initial prototype!
I’d love to find someone who is enthusiastic about sustainable building, natural materials, and creating models of solutionary architecture for the generations behind us!
We have our sketch up model 80% set.
The next steps will be weathering in- finishing framing and putting up exterior insulation. Then windows, doors, siding, softet and fascia, trim, and roofing.
That will complete phase two, and then we’ll move into electric and plumbing, systems, and all interior finish.
Our work together may look like weekly zoom consultation calls to create our plans, and then being on site when we have the materials, plans, and team ready for each sequential step.

We have teams of people who are happy to contribute to the labor of building, which is wonderful. I am primarily searching for a mentor figure to guide the completion of the build, and each stepping stone along the way.
