This is a W-2 hourly position with an hourly rate of $30 to $38 based on skills and experience. WHAT YOU BRING
Required
Valid driver’s license
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Reliable transportation
5+ years residential remodel carpentry experience working independently without instruction REQUIRED
Ability to do demo, site protection, framing, windows, doors, siding, and trim carpentry, in addition to job clean-up, picking up materials, etc.
Must be intrinsically motivated and care about what you do, open to feedback self-reflective, strong interpersonal skills, and eager to ask questions
Must show up on time and work hard
Must be able to listen and follow directions, and most importantly, be willing to learn
Ability to use mathematical calculations for cutting, measuring, and installing
Ability to use a smartphone & computer to navigate our project management software and communication platforms, familiarity with Windows and OS operating systems and basic computer skills
Ability to think outside the box and engage in creative problem solving. Find creative ways to work around design challenges, site issues, and the intricacies of small on-site details
Thorough understanding of both city building codes and HBAC Standards
Preferred
Basic carpentry tools (tape measure, tool bag/belt, hammer, drywall knife, cat’s paw, flat bar, chalk line, multitool, impact, ½” chuck drill, speed square, basic protective equipment (ears, eyes, knees, toes), circular saw, level
Truck or van for hauling materials
Familiarity with BuilderTrend/project management software
Osha 10 &/or 30 Certification
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Strong in both Rough and Finish Carpentry
As a carpenter, you are able to confidently do most of the following with minimal to no supervision. Your speed is quick without a sacrifice in quality, your workflow is smooth, and quality is at or above NAHB Standards, striving for AWS (Architectural Wood Standards).
Have a strong sense of how long things take and use that knowledge to keep the job on schedule.
Recognize errors/quality issues in your own work and that of others, including trade partners when possible. You are able to be eyes and ears on site and call out mistakes before they become huge issues.
SKILLS YOU'VE MASTERED
You are confident executing most of the following with little if any support and few mistakes. You are able to provide some support to rising carpenters in order for them to successfully expand their own skills. In conjunction with a Lead Carpenter and/or Project Manager, you’ll be relied on to help keep jobs on track, sometimes coordinating subs and employees, and conducting quality assurance checks. You are able to demonstrating the following skills;
Tool operation including tape measure, tool bag/belt, hammer, drywall knife, cat’s paw, flat bar, chalk line, multitool, impact, ½” chuck drill, speed square, circular saw, level, pneumatic nailer, chop saw, table saw, & sanders, and basic protective equipment (ears, eyes, knees, toes, fall protection)
In depth understanding of safety protocols.
Install windows and doors, including proper flashing techniques, AAMA & AAMA Guidelines (Methods A & B).
Rough Carpentry
Framing (structural, floors, walls, roofs)
Siding
Decks and roof covers
Installing cabinetry & vanities
Custom finish carpentry including bookshelves, benches, floating shelves, closet systems, mantles, accent walls, wainscot, crown molding, Interior trim
Flooring (minimal)
Tile
Hardwood

Plumbing/Electrical (minor)
Safety protocols, know what is safe to do and what is not
Locate and turn water and electricity on and off
