We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Gas Fireplace Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of gas fireplaces and related systems. This role demands a strong understanding of gas systems, safety protocols, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Responsibilities:
Installation:
Install gas fireplaces, including venting systems, gas lines, and electrical connections, according to manufacturer specifications and local building codes.
Ensure proper venting and combustion for safe operation.
Perform pressure testing and leak detection.
Maintenance and Repair:
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with gas fireplaces, including ignition problems, gas leaks, and control system malfunctions.
Perform routine maintenance, such as cleaning burners, checking pilot lights, and inspecting venting systems.
Repair or replace faulty components, including valves, igniters, and thermostats.
Inspection and Safety:
Conduct thorough inspections of gas fireplaces to ensure safe operation.
Perform gas leak detection and pressure testing.
Educate customers on safe operation and maintenance practices.
Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including gas safety codes.
Must be willing to cross train in other departments
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service, including clear communication and professional demeanor.
Explain technical issues and repair options to customers in a clear and understandable manner.
Provide accurate estimates and invoices.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including inspections, repairs, and installations.
Complete work orders and reports in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a Gas Fireplace Technician or in a related field.
Strong knowledge of gas systems, including gas lines, valves, and regulators.
Understanding of electrical systems and wiring.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations.
Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Skills:
NFI (National Fireplace Institute) certification.
Experience with various gas fireplace brands and models.
Knowledge of HVAC systems.
Working Environment & Physical Requirements
Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for long periods
Must be able to drive for long periods
Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items weighing up to 25 pounds
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and climb ladders
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00/hourly, depending on experience
