We are seeking experienced car mechanics who are eager to explore a new challenge and expand their horizons in the electrical industry. As a Breaker Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of circuit breakers and electrical distribution systems in various settings.
Job Description:
Assemble electrical components for use in motor control centers/switchgear and various other applications. Disassemble and reassemble for reconditioning/remanufacturing 480v to 15kv circuit breakers. Includes assembly of metal housing components, installation of internal components (starters, contactors, overloads, circuit breakers, transformers, terminal strips et cetera) as well as control and power wiring intermediate to the components. Perform testing on power transformers by megger, TTR and Power Factor. Test relays by primary and secondary injection.
Position Requirements:
Must be able to pass federal background check and drug screening. Must possess valid driver’s license. Must be able to be employed in the Unites States.
Base Skills/Experience:
- Mechanical /electrical aptitude in dismantling, cleaning, repair and rebuilding low/medium voltage circuit breakers
- Testing of low/medium voltage electrical power equipment
- Detailed documentation of test results
- Excellent people skills (client and co-worker interaction)
- Excellent verbal communication
- Excellent reading comprehension of technical documents

· Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities

· National Electrical Code, ANSI, and IEEE code knowledge
· Firm understanding of electrical machinery (transformers, motors, power electronics)
· Firm understanding of motor control schemes and corresponding diagrams
· Experience with 480V electrical equipment manufacturing
Educational Requirements:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
Real world experience is an acceptable replacement for any formal education
