What you will be doing
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all ammonia systems, fire monitoring systems, boiler systems, heat exchangers and glycol systems. Handle all “after hours” calls when on swing/night shift for the Distribution Center and property.
The position will be based in Denver, CO.
Main responsibilities
Operate and maintain electrical systems, mechanical equipment such as central plant refrigeration, steam boilers and air condition systems
Update log sheets with temperatures and pressures, oil levels, vessels, banana rooms temperatures, and warehouse temperatures
Work with outside vendors as needed
Working environment may be wet, cold, freezing and/or may have sudden temperature changes
Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement but no less than the local minimum wage. Additional premiums for swing and grave shifts are available. Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation pay (accrued based on hours worked), paid holidays (between 7-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).
Shift for this position is a 12-hour night shift, working 3 days one week and 4 days the next.

What we are searching for
Expertise Ammonia Refrigeration
Experience in mechanical systems
Possess excellent computer skills including proficiency with Frick controls and basic DDC
Working knowledge of PSM, RMP and knowledge of EPA and OSHA requirements
Understand defrost/hot gas by-pass
Familiar with air handlers and condensers
Know and understand refrigeration systems
Understand VFD’s, fire systems, computers, control valves, switches, piping controls
Able to work all shifts including holidays and weekends
Able to lift over 50 pounds and able to push, pull, stoop, reach stand and walk during most of the shift
Own your own tools and have knowledge of power tools
High school diploma or trade school equivalent required
Four years of refrigeration experience
Possess or obtain Denver County Stationary Engineer’s license within 90 days or hire
