Need someone who can build a team!
We are Bicycles for Children, a local nonprofit in Denver Colorado. Last year we collected about 150 bicycles just from canvassing the neighborhoods. We put on six events throughout the summer where we gave away bicycles for free.
As the director you would be responsible for canvassing the neighborhood yourself or building a team that can canvas and collect bicycles. Along with collecting bicycles, we offer raffle tickets that enter folks into the opportunity of winning a free bicycle or tickets to some football games or baseball games. We also ask for donations in all forms. We also offer bicycle safety classes that we charge requested donation cost for.
We work with a local Bike Shop called Bike Shop Denver and we will be at their events representing bicycles for children. They will have a weekly community ride along with a one time assisted bicycle ride in August. We will also be linking up with all local bicycle rides in all forms. Meow Wolf art museum will be having a bicycle ride on April 19 for a bicycle day. Trek bicycles will have rides throughout the summer. The Denver century is in September and we hope to be involved with them as well.
The compensation for this job will depend on the input from the director. But, compensation will come in many forms. The agreement, to put simply, is we put 25% away in savings immediately. After that, 50% is divided to be used towards operations, and the other 50% is compensation for the director. The same goes for the sale of bicycles that are collected and donated. Those bikes will be processed through Bike Shop Denver and sold. When they are sold, after expenses and 25% is put in savings, the rest is split the same. 50% commission to the director. Also, the same with all cash or digital donations. Bicycles For Children will hold about four solo events in nearby parks where we also collect donations from the Public. That is another way for the director to bring income.
