Job Title: Safety Coordinator

If you have a compassionate heart and want to make a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, this role is for you. As a Safety Coordinator, you'll promote safety and well-being within our homeless support program. You'll educate community members about safety rules, build positive relationships with tenants, volunteers, law enforcement, and partners, and identify potential security concerns.
You'll oversee and support homeless tenants, addressing concerns promptly. Your communication skills will help maintain clear interactions with tenants, partners, and management. You'll handle conflicts with calm and fairness and use de-escalation strategies effectively.
Coordinating with partner support organizations, you'll provide necessary resources to tenants. Regular patrols will ensure that safety protocols are followed. In emergencies, you'll investigate incidents thoroughly and ensure appropriate follow-up.
Qualifications:
- Empathy and non-judgmental approach towards homelessness
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to pass a background check (no felonies)
- Experience in nonprofit work, security, military, or law enforcement is a plus

Two shifts are available: the first is Thursday and Friday, 5 pm-12 am, and Saturday and Sunday, 9 am—3 pm. The second is Thursday and Friday, 5 pm-12 am. Retirees and veterans are strongly encouraged to apply!
