Organization purpose:

Montessori del Mundo (MdM) is a public Dual-Language Montessori charter school in Aurora CO. MdM follows the Montessori philosophy and curriculum and uses a research-based dual language model with the goal of bilingualism and biliteracy for all students. Academic instruction is in both Spanish and English to prepare students for the future bilingual world.

This role exists for the purpose of:

Supporting the instructional and administrative work of the school in service of growing and developing each child as a bilingual leader.

Accountabilities and Expectations:

Providing a spirit of hospitality in daily interactions, at school gatherings, public events, and family engagement activities

Greeting and welcoming all visitors, students and staff at the front desk

Answering, screening and forwarding all incoming phone calls

Receiving, sorting and distributing incoming mail within 24 hours

Screening, answering or routing all incoming email in the info@ and orders@ email account within 24 hours

Reviewing teacher order requests weekly; filling orders from existing supply inventory when possible

Placing all orders and ensuring delivery is scheduled at at a time the school is open

Scanning and filing credit card receipts and other documents as requested

Receiving, recording, and delivering all deliveries to the appropriate person within 48 hours

Maintaining classroom and office supply inventory

Monitoring daily classroom attendance to ensure timely entry

Monitoring student absences and contacting parents of students with unexcused absences within 24 hours

Providing weekly attendance reports to grade level coordinators

Maintaining clean, welcoming reception area

Serving as backup clinic aide

Maintaining security by following safety procedures and policies

Participating as a member of the Building Emergency Response Team

Supporting all aspects of enrollment as needed

Providing clerical support for administrative assistant, executive director and family liaison

Accepting and documenting tuition and fee payments in accordance with established policies

Qualifications/Individual Education and Experience Required:

High School diploma or GED

Bilingual - ability to speak and write with native like fluency in both Spanish and English

3+ years experience in an administrative support role

Strong knowledge of the Google Suite and Microsoft Suite of Products

Current CPR/First Aid Certificate

Preferred:

Associates or Bachelor’s degree

Previous experience working in a school setting

Working conditions:

This position will require the employee to move about the office regularly including climbing stairs, walking on uneven surfaces (playground) and may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. There are occasions when you may be required to be outside for a short period of time in inclement weather. There may be extended periods of time when the employee is at the front desk alone. This position requires some flexibility to attend events on evenings and/or weekends throughout the year in support of the community.

Physical requirements:

This position will require sitting, standing, bending, reaching and occasional climbing on stools. Candidates must be able to navigate stairs and lift up to 20 lbs.

Salary:

The starting hourly rate for this position is $15.80 - $24.05 per hour dependent on education and experience.
