Job Overview:
The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, development and implementation of marketing initiatives, communications and public relations and outreach for AVA Rafting & Zipline, Peak 1 Express, Breckenridge Ski & Sport, MileMarker Van Rental, and all associated and future brands under the Outlaw Group umbrella. They are expected to monitor the success of all marketing campaigns and optimize marketing spend to best drive conversion in accordance with revenue goals and brand goals.
The Marketing Manager will answer directly to the CEO and will work cooperatively with all senior management staff, including the Director of Sales . The Marketing Manager will also manage the marketing staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive customer interest in all brands, and generate revenue to hit sales goals
- Plan, implement and oversee all advertising
- Work with SEO consultants on the development and management of content for our various brands and sites
- Manage and maintain all websites, including rebuilds and new websites
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all products, activities, customer bases, locations, policies, and procedures for all brands
- Maintain all brands including messaging, look-and feel, online presence and collateral
- Use data (traffic, conversions, etc) to evaluate the success of each marketing initiative; make changes as needed; and present reports to senior management and other departments
- Manage the overall workload of the marketing department, including hiring, training, and managing the growing marketing team
- Track and manage the budget of the marketing department
Marketing Strategy & Implementation
- Work with the CEO and marketing team on a marketing plan and calendar for all brands on an annual basis
- Strategize and develop plans for social media, email newsletters, and media production with the marketing team, and implement as needed
- Regularly evaluate existing systems to ensure that all relevant metrics are accounted for
- Work with the Sales Manager and marketing team to report performance on a weekly basis for the Sales & Marketing Meeting
- Develop agendas for weekly Sales & Marketing Meetings
- Analyze market trends and present to the leadership team
- Provide regular updates on the progress and performance of campaigns and strategies
- Oversee all marketing campaigns and ensure brand presence in all relevant outlets
- Implement strategies and campaign plans of the annual marketing plan
- Increase brand awareness and market share
- Work with senior management to promote new products and services across all relevant marketing platforms
- Work with the CEO and finance team to allocate spend, maintain budget, and ensure that the budget is met
- Ensure all initiatives are executed at or exceeding expectations for quality and timeliness
- Develop new brands, including but not limited to brand design and strategy, website planning, advertising, online presence, and sales strategy
Brand Presence & Advertising
- Ensure that all brands, as well as any auxiliary brands (eg. Breckenridge Whitewater) appear across all relevant markets, platforms, and contexts that could generate reservations.
- Evaluate new potential markets, new potential platforms, and new potential ways in which to convey our unique selling proposition
- Develop physical signage at our offices, outposts, and other locations as needed
- Areas in which the Marketing Manager is expected to promote Outlaw Group brands include, but are not limited to: Social Media, Newsletters and other email campaigns, Online search (SEO, website development), Online advertising channels (display ads, search ads, etc.), 3rd party referral sites, Review sites, TV, radio, newspaper advertising and editorial coverage and opportunities, Maintenance of media relationships, Sponsorships and local events, Gift certificates, charitable donations, promotions, Pricing and discount campaigns, Promotion of new or underselling products across all relevant channels
- Plan and execute locals’ appreciation events, grand openings, and other business-centric events
- Facilitate or spearhead community events such as holiday drives and promotional events as deemed worthwhile by the marketing department and senior management
- Maintain brand imagery for all brands, including logos, style guides, and media libraries, through messaging, imagery, websites, community, and online presence
- Regularly review brand presence across all relevant channels, both online and offline, to ensure consistency with current look and feel
- Spearhead press statements and public relations
Website Development & Maintenance
- Utilize various measurement systems, including Google Analytics, Google Ads, Moz, HubSpot and partner reports to improve both the efficiency and the quality of our existing metrics and user experience
- All websites must have an ongoing content strategy, incorporating SEO, products to be highlighted, and user needs. This includes written content, imagery and video content, and social promotion/ integration
- Work with our SEO consultants on the development of evergreen content strategy and website buildouts
- Create blog topic calendars for each site/brand and collaborate with the Sales Manager on blog assignments for the sales staff
- Update site templates, plug-ins and architecture as needed. Work with 3rd party developers to ensure best-in-class site performance (site speed, mobile optimization, etc)
- Spearhead site rebuilds as needed either through a 3rd party developer or internally
- Spearhead the development of new websites as needed, either through a 3rd party developer or internally
Company Recruitment Advertising
- Work with HR Manager and CEO to develop a strategy for job listings and hiring advertisements
- Continue development of our various employment pages to better speak to our open positions, benefits, company culture, and more
- Assist the HR Manager in the content around job listings for our websites and various recruiting sites such as Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Indeed, Zip Recruiter, and more
- Explore new and better platforms for targeted recruitment ads
- Cultivate recruiting ads for various platforms including radio, social media, digital campaigns, recruitment websites, newspaper, print, and more.
- Marketing Staff
- Hire and marketing staff based on increased staffing needs as determined with the CEO
- Develop training materials in the LMS system (Rise) for the marketing team and other teams as needed
- Train all marketing staff on the requirements for each brand to ensure consistency on all marketing materials
- Monitor and guide the ongoing performance and development of all marketing staff and provide timely feedback, accountability, and support
- Evaluate ongoing educational opportunities for all marketing staff and make recommendations for conferences, online courses, and classes
- Oversee workload, deadlines, and priorities for marketing staff
- Communicate the overall performance of the marketing staff to the CEO
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-5 years in a marketing role
- Excellent writing & editing skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and draw conclusions from data
- Website (CMS) experience required, Wordpress preferred
- Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Skilled in Microsoft Office & Adobe Creative Suite
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Hubspot experience a plus
- Video/Photography skills a plus
- Adobe suite skills a plus
- Some travel (primarily in-state) may be required
