A progressive farm in Haxtun Co is looking for an individual passionate about soil health, no-till, human health and creative ways of not farming in "standard ways". Someone who has a passion about agriculture, who may not have the means to enter the industry on their own.
We are a no till, dryland operation currently covering 2400 acres. We have utilized cover crops the last 10 years. As well as seeding and harvesting "intercrops" that we can then clean after harvest. Continually monitoring soil healtb and limiting fertilizer and herbicides.
In the past we have used livestock, but do not currently have labor resources to do so. We are very open minded, continually open to new methods, ideas, and enterprises.
We run 10 to 20 year old equipment that allows us to repair most anything in house. And conduct proactive maintainence and repairs in the off-season. All equipment has GPS steering.
This is a paid position open immediately. Housing is not provided. Rentals are scarce, but decent amount of homes for sale in the area. (Town and country) This is also an opportunity to have option to rent your own farm ground after demonstrating your abilities and proving yourself worthy.
Year 2024- $40k paid position. Learning equipment, soil health, finances, and responsible for all farm operations. (Planting, spraying, fertilizing, harvest, etc)
Year 2025- $20k paid position, if certain thresholds have been met. The opportunity to rent 640 acres utilizing my equipment to farm those acres free of charge, while still providing labor and field activities for my operation.
Year 2026. Non paid. Additional opportunity rent more acres. Will trade use of my equipment for your rented acres to provide farm operation labor for my remaining 800 acres.
