We’re looking for a Landscape Installation Crew Lead who’s organized, detail-oriented, and professional — someone who can lead a crew, communicate clearly with clients and teammates, and deliver exceptional results.
Position Overview
As a Landscape Installation Crew Lead, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of installation projects, managing a small crew (3–5 people), and ensuring every job is completed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll be the main point of contact on-site, so leadership, organization, and clear communication are key.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Crew Oversight
Supervise, support, and delegate tasks to a crew of 3–5 team members
Maintain a safe, efficient, and productive work environment
Train new team members on tools, techniques, and safety procedures
Drive company truck with trailer to and from job sites daily
Installation & Project Execution
Read and follow landscape plans and blueprints
Install plants, irrigation systems, fencing, stonework, and other hardscape elements
Operate landscaping equipment such as mini skid-steers, trencher, compactors, saws, and more
Conduct site prep, grading, soil work, and material layout
Perform regular maintenance on tools and equipment
Client Interaction & Communication
Communicate professionally with clients on-site
Serve as the on-site representative of Sustainable Roots
Provide progress updates and resolve concerns proactively
Organization & Detail Management
Track project hours and materials using our CRM or job-tracking app
Ensure work meets design specs and quality standards
What We’re Looking For
Minimum 2 years of landscape installation experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role
Strong understanding of plant installation, irrigation systems, fencing, and hardscapes
Excellent communication skills
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a huge plus
Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
Ability to read landscape plans and manage timelines
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to safely drive a truck with a trailer
Comfortable with physical outdoor work and lifting heavy materials
Bonus: experience with concrete, masonry, or carpentry
