Position Summary
The Janitorial Operations Manager is responsible for directing and optimizing the daily operations of janitorial services across assigned facilities, ensuring consistent quality, safety compliance, and exceptional client satisfaction. This leadership role oversees and supports supervisors, leads, and cleaning staff, coordinates resources, and serves as the primary point of contact between the company, employees, and clients. The Operations Manager ensures all sites are properly staffed, equipped, and maintained in alignment with contractual obligations and company standards. Success in this role requires a balance of strategic planning, hands-on problem-solving, and strong leadership to deliver efficient, high-quality cleaning services. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and support janitorial teams, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
Oversee daily operations of multiple facilities, ensuring consistent quality, safety compliance, and adherence to company standards.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate janitorial services to meet client and contractual requirements.
Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and audits to assess service quality, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
Serve as the primary liaison for subcontractors and key clients, addressing concerns, resolving issues, and maintaining strong relationships.
Provide coaching, feedback, and ongoing training on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols .
Develop and implement improved cleaning processes, operational efficiencies, and best practices.
Monitor and maintain appropriate staffing levels, inventory of supplies, and functional cleaning equipment.
Manage operational budgets, track labor costs, and ensure cost-effective service delivery.
Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and all contractual obligations.
Respond promptly to emergency cleaning requests or urgent client needs.
Prepare and present operational, staffing, and quality reports to senior management.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in janitorial operations, facilities management, or a related field.
Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in scheduling software, Microsoft Office Suite, and operational tracking tools.
Solid knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, supplies, and industry best practices.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
Bilingual in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) required.
Must pass a background check.
