Non-Toxic Housekeeper/Assistant (Short Term)
Chronically ill artist with chemical and electrical hypersensitivities seeking a highly compassionate, diligent, detail-oriented person with a passion for organization and a love of cleanliness for help with housekeeping, errands, and more to join our small kind team immediately.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a temporary position, as I am visiting Conifer/Denver for medical care. It is currently unknown how long I will be here, but at least through the end of July, likely through August, and potentially longer. There could be the opportunity to make the position more permanent if you are interested in traveling to other medical destinations (next up: WA) and/or relocating to Santa Fe, NM, where I typically reside.
TASKS:
Deep, meticulous cleaning
Laundry
Household organization and upkeep
Help with lifting, carrying, etc
Small fix-it jobs
Running errands
Grocery shopping
Caring for a very sweet and easily managed 25lb dog
Optional miscellaneous assistance, including but not limited to:
- Online orders
- Email assistance and computer work
- Scheduling appointments and making calls on my behalf
- Driving me to doctor’s appointments
YOU MUST:
Be fluent in English, spoken and written
Be a skilled communicator
Be highly organized and detail oriented
Anticipate needs and be able to keep the household running smoothly
Be dependable, trustworthy, and able to commit to our agreed upon schedule and period of work
Use the provided non-toxic, eco-friendly cleaning products
Be able to accommodate someone with noise, chemical, and electrical hypersensitivities; this includes using no scented personal products or clothing with scented laundry detergent
Leave your phone and other electronics off or in the car while working
Be physically able to perform required tasks (i.e. climb stairs, carry groceries and laundry, lift/carry cases of glass water bottles, etc.)
Be comfortable with and able to incorporate consistent feedback
Be flexible- While you will have a set weekly schedule, flexibility is ideal to allow coverage for other team members in case of emergency or planned time off (with the knowledge that the same flexibility for time off will be afforded to you!)
Hours: Approximately 15-40hrs across 2-5 days per week. This would consist of roughly 15 hours housekeeping, and up to 25 hours assisting depending on availability and skill.
Schedule: Shifts would generally begin around noon or later. Exact days/hours are negotiable until a set weekly schedule is agreed upon. This could include a mix of 3-10hr shifts, depending on how many days/hours you choose to work weekly. Flexibility is both requested from you and afforded to you in case of illness, emergencies, vacations, etc.
Location: Primary location is my rental home in Conifer, 5min from Natural Grocers. Errands and groceries could involve drives into the greater Denver area (most likely Littleton, Lakewood, etc).
Compensation: $22-$25/hr, depending on experience and skill. Mileage during work is reimbursed at the standard national rate.
