Job Overview:
High Plains Lawn Service seeks a reliable and attention-oriented Driver/Lawn Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position's primary responsibility is maintaining our clients' lawns and landscapes, including mowing, edging, and weed-eating. It is a full-time position with a pay range between $20.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience or how fast you can catch up to our level. We have many clients who tip, so you can up your pay by getting a monthly gratuity for outstanding work, and there is an annual seasonal bonus at the end of the season.
Work Hours:
M—F, start time 7:30 a.m. You must work a minimum of 35 hours, and during the spring, there are weeks you will work overtime. Sometimes, the weather will cause a delay in working, so there might be a Saturday shift here and there. Our work season begins in March and ends at the end of November. We also remove snow in the winter.
Key Responsibilities:
-Drive a truck towing a single-axle trailer.
-Mow lawns using commercial Toro (small mowers), Velke (walk-behind), and Stander (riding mowers).
-Edge the grass along sidewalks and driveways, keeping the edge sharp, well-defined, and in perfect line.
-Weed-eat (trim) at an even height around landscaped flower beds, fences, trees, and other hard-to-reach areas the mowers can not reach.
-Thoroughly blow off the grass, clipping back into the yard from the sidewalks, driveways, porches, and beds.
-Clock jobs in when you arrive and clock them out when you leave.
-Operate and maintain lawn equipment gently and professionally.
-Ensure proper care and maintenance of all lawns and landscaping features and use the correct equipment for each yard.
-Remove unsightly trash and debris from yards.
-Maintain a professional appearance and conduct while representing the company.
-Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies.
Requirements:
-Valid driver's license and nothing major on your driving record.
-Capable of reading notes and following client directions exactly.
-Previous lawn maintenance or landscaping experience is preferred, but someone who follows instructions and takes pride in their work will have training available.
-Ability to operate lawn equipment and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
-Excellent time management and organizational skills.
-Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Be aware of your surroundings when operating equipment.
