We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile Dental Assistant/Administrative Coordinator to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Dental Assistant/Administrative Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our dental practice. This dual-role position combines traditional dental assisting duties with essential administrative responsibilities, requiring a candidate with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for patient care. This is the MVP of the practice. We will train the right person. This role is entry leave to in house train a Lead assistant. The goal is to groom this position into leadership within 2 years.
Work Schedule:
Monday- 8am - 5pm Clinical Full day
Tuesday 7am-4pm Morning will be Clinical Afternoon Will be Admin.
Wednesday- 8am-5pm Morning will be Admin. and Afternoon will be Clinical
Thursday 7am-4pm Morning will be Clinical Afternoon Will be administrative.
Friday- 7am-12pm (You will have every other Friday off, 3 Day weekend) The Fridays you do work will be full clinical. This will be every friday within a year or 2
Clinical Duties:
Assist the Dentist and Hygienist during a variety of treatment and hygiene procedures.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment.
Take dental radiographs (x-rays).
Provide patient education and post-operative instructions.
Maintain accurate patient records and charting.
Prepare treatment rooms for patient appointments.
Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols are followed.
Administrative Duties:
Greet and check-in patients, and updating patient records.
Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and assist in managing the appointment calendar.
Handle patient billing and payment processing.
Manage patient correspondence, including emails and mail.
Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
Manage electronic dental records and practice management software.
Handle patient inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns.
Present treatment plans to patients.
Qualifications:
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification preferred.
0-3 years of experience as a dental assistant preferred. We will train the write person, but must have CDA or RDA.
Proficiency in dental terminology and procedures.
Knowledge of OpenDental preferred but not required.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
CPR certification preferred but not required
