Job Description

The Human Resources Coordinator handles and provides support for various HR employee programs and processes within the organization. Responsibilities include full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition, new hire orientation, benefits administration, employee relations, event planning, and general company-wide communication. The position also supports SFC compliance with state and federal regulations. The position will take part in developing SFC culture through the integration of Company values and expectations across all Human Capital touchpoints.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Recruiting and On-Boarding

  • In consultation with the Human Resources Manager, develops and implements a full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition program to meet the talent needs of the SFC.
  • Post positions internally and externally and prepare announcement of vacancies for production and non – production positions. Post union-based positions according to union guidelines.
  • Recruits, screens, interviews job applicants to fill production positions for the Denver and KC offices. Expands SFC recruiting efforts through establishing new recruiting sources, attending job fairs, recommends recruiting process improvements to generate increased applicant flow and quality candidates. Participates in the employee interviewing process as needed.
  • Works in conjunction with the HR Assistant to process pre-employment screenings (e.g. drug test, background check, CRT strength test)
  • Conduct the New Employee Orientation.
  • Works with HR Assistant to ensure employee personnel file maintenance.
  • Serve as the key point person for all new hires.

Benefits Administration

  • Coordinates and facilitates benefits orientations to new employees
  • Handles enrollments, COBRA compliance, terminations, changes and beneficiaries on group benefits programs (health, dental, short-term and long-term disability, worker’s compensation, life insurance, flexible spending plan)
  • Managers 401k enrollment for new eligible employees
  • Maintain employee deductions in ADP payroll system
  • Assist with open enrollment

Communication

Provide bi-lingual assistance as needed.

Miscellaneous

  • Maintains positive employee relations through coaching and counseling supervisors, managers and employees on employment related issues. Responds to employee complaints and conducts investigations.
  • Develop competency regarding the collective bargaining agreement, provide interpretation to union employees and supervisors on CBA compliance.
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of department and company-wide events.
  • Provides administrative support to the Director of HCM in the performance of work activities.
  • Stays current in HR trends and legal updates through membership in professional associations, attendance at webinars and workshops on HR or other legal topics.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Skills Required:

  • 3+ years’ experience in in human resources
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Technical proficiency in the HR function
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven track record of success in implementing HR programs/policies
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills at all levels (oral and written).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated planning and system implementation ability.
  • Proficiency in related computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Bilingual in Spanish would be an asset.
