DEA's is looking for a full-timeConstruction Services Managerto join our
Construction Engineering Services (CES) group in ourDenver CO office. As
the Construction Services Manager, the duties will be to serve as the
owner's representative to monitor and oversee fieldwork to be performed by
contractors and specialty subcontractors for our clients.Depending upon
background and skills, may have opportunities in project design during
non-construction season work.
Field Construction duties include:
Interpreting contract plans and specifications for roadway and bridge
construction to ensure contract compliance;
Verifying the quality of field-tested materials incorporated into the project
by the contractor, such as soil, crushed aggregates, Portland Cement
Concrete, and Asphalt Concrete are within specifications;
Inspecting the quality of materials being placed and the contractor methods of
construction to ensure compliance to specifications;
Assuring that the Contractor's Quality Compliance program meets required
standards and specifications for each project;
Randomly inspecting for proper sampling and testing procedures and confirm
technician certifications;
Assuring product compliance samples are collected and submitted;
Inspecting, monitoring, and documenting construction work to assure that
the work performed is in close conformance to the Plans and Specifications,
rejecting work that does not meet contract requirements;
Documenting quality and quantity of work using General Daily Progress
Reports, Pay Notes, Field Inspection Reports, digital photos, etc;
Acting as the representative of the Client in communications with the
Contractor, public, and other interested parties.
Office duties include:
Preparing and maintaining test summary sheets on each project for materials
incorporated into the project;
Reviewing contractor test reports for completeness, accuracy, and
acceptability;
Calculating price adjustments for incorporated materials;
Reviewing preliminary and advanced plans for appropriate material
specifications;
Tracking and logging RFI's and submittals from Clients and Contractors
Preparing contractor monthly progress payments, or reviewing
contractor-submitted requests for payments;
Checking and organizing pay notes from inspectors;
Preparing for and assisting in Agency and Client audits of project
documentation;
Assisting in preparing Contract Change Orders.Basic Qualifications
Heavy construction experience with Highways, Bridges, Paving, and Utilities
5+ years of construction experience
Good Driving RecordPreferred Qualifications

Anticipated salary range for this position is $83,000 - $170,000
